Layla Blair
Layla Blair is a 3rd-year undergraduate student pursuing her B.S. in bioengineering at the University of Colorado Denver. She works as a student researcher at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus through Dr. Chelsea Magin's lab in the Department of Bioengineering. Her current focus in the Magin lab has been optimizing decellularized matrix (dECM) protocols for pulmonary arterial tissue. In the future, she will incorporate this dECM into 3D printed phototunable hybrid-hydrogels constructs which will serve as a model to better study pulmonary arterial hypertension. She also works at the Tucker lab in the Department of Pharmacology as a laboratory assistant. Her scholarship awards include the Reisher Scholarship, MARC U-Star Scholarship, and the CU Denver Adm Provost Chancellor Scholarship. Layla is an active member of the CU Denver community and serves as the President if the Reisher Scholar's Club and Vice President of BMES. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, singing, and hanging out with her cat Lily and guinea pig Skippy.
